After our success with their gameplay trailer a few months prior, Survios approached us with an RFP for a live-action trailer and two shorter commercials to air on AMC’s networks to promote the game. For VR it’s crucial to sell the magic of the experience, but with a limited budget for VFX and only a month turnaround time, we had to get extremely creative with our shooting script and shot choices.

We worked with Norman Reedus from AMC's The Walking Dead on the dialogue. As it was during the coronavirus lock-down, we walked him through setting up his own studio that he could send us recordings from.
It was important to the client that we were able to sell the magic of playing in VR, and one of the best parts of The Walking Dead: Onslaught is slaughtering the Walkers with an array of tangible weapons. By working with Ricky Reginato at NOX VFX, we were able to enhance each scene to make the VR weapons bleed into the real world.
